My Story

Growing up in China, I experienced several rock-bottom moments that shaped my life. One of the most defining was in Grade 5 when I first encountered depression. My parents had moved and left me behind with an abusive teacher who constantly mistreated me. I felt lost in the isolation and depression. Later, as a medical student, I searched for love in all the wrong places. I got into a toxic relationship with my ex, who was emotionally and physically abusive. After moving from China to Canada to be with him, the abuse worsened. I worked tirelessly to please him, but it was never enough. My physical health deteriorated—I developed psoriasis, and my mental health spiraled. At my lowest point, I was suicidal. 

Then, a call from my father changed everything. He told me I could always come home and cried, showing me love I hadn’t felt in years. I realized if my earthly father could love me that much, how much more my Heavenly Father must love me. 

From that moment, I decided to take control of my life. I left the abuse, started my healing journey, and learned to love and care for myself. I built healthy boundaries, surrounded myself with safe people, and began empowering other women with similar struggles. 

Today, I no longer suffer from the myriad of physical, mental, and emotional ailments that were affecting my quality of life! I feel reconnected to my joy and purpose. I am passionate about helping other Chinese businesswomen heal from complex trauma, so they can thrive personally and professionally, just as I’ve learned to do.

My son is 22 years old this year. Since high school, he has exhibited noticeable irritability and frequently clashed with us as parents and with his teachers.
